Debt Advisory
Altenburg offer a hands-on approach and advise on, structure, and arrange debt funding solutions for our clients.
We work closely with our clients to develop a solution that is appropriate for the current situation as well as for future requirements.
We work with a wide range of lenders including banks, debt funds, alternative lenders and specialist funders.
We typically work with businesses who are looking to raise over £3m of debt, whether that be to finance growth, fund assets, buy out a shareholder or to restructure their balance sheet
Our offering is analysis led, and we are hands-on from day 1 all the way through to the drawdown of funding
We are a specialist debt advisory firm and not a broker. We invest significant time at the front end of a process to ensure that we understand our clients’ business and requirements so we can advise them appropriately.

2. Information for Funders
- Work with the client to produce the funding information required by funders
- Typically this is an information memorandum (presentation on the business) and a financial model (historical and forecast numbers)
- Model various debt scenarios and covenants to determine the most appropriate solution
- The information analysis in the pack ensures that the ask to funders is clear and supportable

3. Discussions with Funders
- Determine the most appropriate lenders to speak with
- Initial discussion and sharing of the information pack with funders (under NDA)
- Receive initial feedback and arrange meetings with selected funders
- Receive and negotiate initial term sheets
- Model terms received

4. Lender Due Diligence
- Further information sharing with funder to allow them to complete their due diligence
- Work with client’s lawyers to agree and negotiate any outstanding commercial terms with the funder
- Preparation of transactional funds flow
- Other support as required
- Finalise and sign documents

5. Completion

Types of finance

Cash flow Finance:
including senior, stretched senior, unitranche and mezzanine finance facilities to fund organic and acquisition-led growth strategies, shareholder restructuring and recapitalisations

financing of lenders with a focus on asset backed lenders

Real estate:
financing of property development, portfolio expansions, refinancings, and repositioning

Asset Based Lending (ABL):
non vanilla invoice discounting, asset-backed and hybrid (ABL plus term loan) debt structures
